The purpose of this class is to provide students with the basic knowledge
and tools needed to record their own compositions or instrumental solos.
In order to do that they will explore and use the studio capability of
KORG TRITON MUSIC WORKSTATION and the popular, professional music editing
software program: SONAR HOME STUDIO 6/6XL. This class will learn about
the concepts of how sound is produced, how to record and edit midi files,
and they will receive a brief tutorial in mixing.

All that practice pays off! Now it's time to have fun and make music
with a group. Any level of player can get involved with School of Rock.
Songs will be specifically selected to meet the tastes and talents of
those ready to feel the magic of playing with a band. Here's how it works:
you will work on your song within your regular lesson time* and then meet
weekly to perform with other students. School of Rock rehearsal sessions
are directed by Tom Adams, a musician with over twenty years of live
performance.
Tom works with the group to shape their individual pieces
so that they blend with the band to make everyone sound like a star.
Tom motivates each student to challenge him or herself to do their best.
It's a loose atmosphere where the focus is on building confidence and
exploring the possibilities that live performance offers. Many musicians
find that playing with others is the most enjoyable part of playing music
- Our Rock School makes that happen!
*Note - Students can also choose to
have a weekly lesson that focuses solely on playing with a band.
