Drum Lessons at the Conservatory!

Tom Adams has been drumming for over thirty years and delivers obvious results in his students. Other than music, Tom's background is in education. The approach Tom takes is unique in that it is custom tailored to meet the kinesthetic, motivational and cognitive needs of both the student and their support(s). Lessons concentrate on goal-setting, which is done co-operately so that a healthy drumming foundation can be laid. From there a lesson could involve drum history, music appreciation, song construction & deconstruction, math in drumming, or for first timers - drum basics. Most lessons focus on a balance of drum music reading and writing, rudiments and drum set playing, the ratio of them to each other is established earlier as a goal. Lessons are rewarded based on the outcome of goals, with younger students earning prizes for consistent progress outside of the lesson while older students may earn a featured spot in our website.

Anyone can learn to play the drums with some level of rhythm. Drumming is great exercise, to... and playing never felt so good!

If you have an interest in drumming, whether it's a dream or a whim, you will get excited when you play your first beat. Tom can usually have a student playing a simple beat in their first lesson!
